Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant
The grant may be used to fund eligible, cost-effective flood mitigation activities that will reduce the risk of flood losses to any property currently insured under the National Flood Insurance Program, whether repetitive loss or not. The state only receives a small amount of funds each year.
Applications for Flood Mitigation Assistance grant funds shall be processed through FEMA’s web-based Electronic Grants Management System (e-Grants), accessible on the Internet at https://portal.fema.gov. If you are a new user, please contact the state for the user code.
Please visit the updated Flood Mitigation Assistance web page at http://www.fema.gov/government/grant/fma/index.shtm for the latest information on the Flood Mitigation Assistance program. Updates include the Flood Mitigation Assistance Guidance materials as well as Model Scopes of Work for common flood mitigation project activities.
Previous Flood Mitigation Project included acquisition of buildings, installation of box culverts, sewer water extension, and small diversion channel projects.
