EMI Enrollment Changes

EMI Enrollment Procedures

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) has converted to a two-term course enrollment system with prescribed application periods for each term as outlined below. This new system will apply to courses that start on or after April 1, 2002.

The reason for this change is to better manage use of classrooms and dormitory space at the National Emergency Training Center and Mt. Weather. With the current system, EMI can experience low enrollments in a course but have insufficient time to allow the dormitory space to be used for other classes. Late course cancellations under the current system may also cause students to cancel travel plans.

Eligibility requirements to attend resident course offerings at EMI and Mt. Weather are contained in the EMI catalog.

Winter Term 2002 (October 1, 2002 - March 31, 2003)
To enroll in courses that will be conducted during October 1, 2002 through March 31, 2003, applications (FEMA Form 75-5) must be received in the NETC Admission's Office during June 1, 2002 through July 31, 2002. Students will be notified by September 1, 2002 of their acceptance or non-acceptance for the requested course(s).

If vacancies for courses still exist after this period, they will be listed on this website and late applications will be accepted until the course is filled or cancelled.  Check the schedule for vacancies for course titles and dates.

Summer Term 2003 (April 2003 through September 2003)
